Guided Supports

Allow pipe movement in one direction (axial) while restraining lateral and vertical movement. They ensure thermal expansion occurs in the intended path and prevent buckling.
Types
- Guide brackets: Installed at 1/3 and 2/3 points of expansion loop legs
- Guide shoes: U-shaped shoes with slide plates
- Ring guides: Clamp-on rings riding on structural rails
Spacing
First guide from anchor: maximum 14 pipe diameters. Subsequent guides: typically every 6-12 meters depending on diameter.

Free (Sliding) Supports
